Irish Brigade

The story of the 38th (Irish) Brigade in the Second World War

Song Book

During 1944, Brigadier Pat Scott suggested that a song book be created that could be used by all men who served with the Irish Brigade, whether they be Irish, English, Welsh, Scottish, Canadian, South African or any nationality.

Over the following pages, we have added a few of the songs that found resonance amongst all the men of the brigade – we can still hear them singing…

The ‘Rifles’, the ‘Skins’ and the Bold ‘Fusiliers.

St Patrick’s Day.

Barrosa.

The Irish Fusiliers.

The Rose of Tralee.

The Londonderry Air.

When Irish Eyes are Smiling.
