The Irish Brigade web site is pleased to add transcriptions of the 1944 war diaries of the 1st Battalion, Royal Irish Fusiliers (1 RIrF) that provide a day by day narrative of the battalion’s actions during that most difficult of years from winter patrolling in the high Apennines to the aftermath of the bitter fighting at the Gothic Line in Northern Italy.
